Pine Tree Schools


 

 

Parkland public schools rank near the top statewide. There are also Private schools located nearby in Coral Springs, Coconut Creek, Ft. Lauderdale and Boca Raton. Eight colleges are located within 20 miles of Parkland, including Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton and Nova Southeastern University in Ft. Lauderdale.

The school boundaries for Pine Tree Estates are divided based on location in relation to Holmberg Road. Pine Tree residents located on the North side of Holmberg Road attend Riverglades Elementary. Pine Tree residents located on the South side of Holmberg Road attend Park Trails Elementary.  All middle school age students in Pine Tree Estates attend Westglades Middle; and all high school age students attend Stoneman Douglas High.

Park Trails has been an A+ school for 11 years in a row and serves 1,416 students in grades PK, K-5 with a ratio of 18 students per teacher. 
Before/After School Programs
Park Trails Elementary has before and after care provided by After School Programs (ASP). Students can also register for After School Clubs, which include dance, cooking, self defense, drama, sports, reading, and science. 
Other Programs:
- Gifted and Talented Program: Park Trails has identified 15% or more of its student population as gifted and talented.
- Special Education Classes: A program within the school that provides services and training to students with moderate to severe mental and/or physical disabilities. Park Trails has ESE and Speech therapists on Staff.

Riverglades Elementary has before and after care provided by After School Programs (ASP). Riverglades also offers After School Clubs, which include Homework clubs, card and game clubs, Forecasting for fun, crafts, drama and theater dance, and sculpture.

Westglades Middle School is the only middle school in Parkland.  Westglades serves grades 6-8 with a student- teacher ratio of 20:1.
