Pine Tree Estates Activities

Parks

The neighborhood of Pine Tree Estates is centrally located to numerous parks within Parkland. You can choose to walk, bike ride or drive to any of them and enjoy amenities such as walking/biking trails, lakes, sports fields and an equestrian center; and let's not forget the fishing pier near Pine Trails Park!  Parkland is known for its beautiful open spaces that are lush with greenery and nature's bounty. It's one more reason why our beloved town is known as "The Country in the City".  Below is a list of parks that have been developed for the enjoyment of all residents and visitors.

Pine Trails Park is one of Parkland's most popular parks for playing baseball, soccer, lacrosse, and football.   Pine Trails Park has a fishing pier and walking trails throughout the park with a Life Trails fitness course.  There are multi-purpose fields for sports activities including one synthetic turf field, as well as t-ball fields and basketball courts.  A state-of-the-art playground includes a NEOS for children.  The City of Parkland Parks and Recreation Department is housed in the Amphitheater and the monthly concert series and multiple special events are held throughout the course of the year on the open air stage. Parkland's YMCA community center is also adjacent to the park.
Barkland Park On January 7, 2012, the City of Parkland opened the City's first dog park.  It has a fenced area for large dogs and a separate area for smaller dogs with a total of over two acres of space.  This park is unsupervised and there is a limit of two dogs per person with a leash. There is a dog washing station, water fountains for pets and their owners, covered pavilions, walking trails, benches and picnic tables.
Equestrian Center at Temple Park is a lovely facility that is currently open to the public. Open shows attract riders from throughout Broward, Dade and Palm Beach Counties and the organization works hard to provide a pleasant, well run circuit. Volunteers run the Parkland Horseman’s Association. The Equestrian Center at Temple Park is located at 8350 Ranch Road, across the street from the Ranches.
Quigley Park is located at 7901 Parkside Drive just North of Riverglades Elementary School. Quigley Park named for John H. Quigley was dedicated in 1989.  Quigley Park is home of Parkland's Little League Coach Pitch divisions as well as flag football and soccer.  This 5 acre Park has 4 lighted T-ball/Coach Pitch Fields, and a multi-purpose field for soccer and football.  Quigley Park also has a pavilion and a playground. Quigley Park has been the home of the Soccer Buddy program which was recently featured on local television as a leading program for children with special needs. Quigley Park is also a resident favorite for jogging and a leisurely game of frisbee when there are no scheduled sports activities.
Covered Bridge Park is a passive park that allows for visitors to enjoy a tranquil setting alongside a beautiful covered bridge. This was the first park in Town to be developed. It is located at 6031 Holmberg Rd. Residents can relax and enjoy activities such as walking and jogging on its trails. This park is within a very short distance from Pine Tree Estates so residents usually walk or bike.
6 Acre Wood Park consists of approximately a quarter mile loop multi-use trail that winds through a natural environment.  The Trail is accessible from Hillsboro and the Winners Circle Trail.  There is interpretive signage along the trail that depicts wildlife and plant life indigenous to the area. Many Parkland residents enjoy biking and walking through this beautiful park on the East side of Parkland. It is located at 6060 Hillsboro Blvd. and it is open from dawn to dusk.
Liberty Park is Parkland residents' favorite park, with a rustic pioneer look that provides a perfect setting for families to host events and entertain their young children. This seven acre Park includes two playgrounds, a water play area, one large pavilion, Restroom Facilities, Horse Corral, and Grills.
Doris Davis Forman Wildlife Preserve is located at 7300 Parkside Dr. just south of Riverglades Elementary School.  The wildlife preserve includes a 5' wide, 900' long pedestrian trail travelling through native trees and plants with a plethora of wildlife and a 1,550' boardwalk meandering through cypress wetlands and past a breathtaking oak hammock. There are two sitting and observation areas along the path with a pavillion area.  Colorful information boards are located throughout the Preserve educating pedestrians on the foliage and wildlife located within the preserve.
Terramar Park is the largest Park in the City of Parkland with more than 50 acres of recreational amenities. In addition to four 4 multi-purpose sports fields, 5 basketball courts, 4 baseball fields, 5 Picnic Pavilions, and 2 softball fields, Terramar Park has over 1.17 miles of paved biking, walking, and jogging paths and an open space area where you’ll find your neighbors throwing a Frisbee or enjoying a family picnic on the lawn.  Terramar Park also features three playgrounds for children of all ages and a pavilion for rental.  Many special events are held at Terramar Park throughout the course of the year including the annual egg hunt, the Fishing Derby and the SnowFest in February.
