Parkland Schools


Parkland is the best educated city in Florida, proportionately, with 60.7% of adult residents holding an associate degree or higher, and 52.8% of adults possessing a baccalaureate degree or higher. Parkland Schools rank in the top in statewide assessments. Eight colleges are located within 20 miles of Parkland, including Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton and Nova Southeastern University in Ft. Lauderdale.  

Park Trails Elementary 

Park Trails Elementary School has been an A+ school for 10 years in a row and serves 1416 students in grades PK, K-5 with a ratio of 15 students per teacher.

Park Trails Elementary has before and after care provided by After School Programs (ASP). Students can also register for After School Clubs, which include dance, cooking, self defense, drama, sports, reading, and science.

- Gifted and Talented Program:  Park Trails has identified 15% or more of its student population as gifted and talented.
- Special Education Classes: A program within the school that provides services and training to students with moderate to severe mental and/or physical disabilities. Park Trails has ESE and Speech therapists on Staff.

Riverglades Elementary School is a public school rated "A" accordint the FCAT results during the past 10 years.  It serves 901 students in grades PK, K-5 with a student- teacher ratio of 14:1.

 Stoneman Douglas High School is the only public high school in Parkland. It serves grades 9-12 with a student- teacher ratio of 18:1. This school is ranked in the top 1 percentile in the nation. As of 2011, the total student enrollment was 3734.
