Before/After School Programs
"Extended day" programs where the school day is extended before and after school to accommodate working parents. Chapel Trail Elementary has before and after care provided by After School Programs (ASP).
Gifted and Talented Program
A school system may identify 10% to 15% or more of its student population as gifted and talented. A brief description of each area of giftedness or talent as defined by the Office of Gifted and Talented:
  • general intellectual ability or talent - high intelligence test score (usually two standard deviations above the mean), and high levels of vocabulary, memory, abstract work knowledge and abstract reasoning;
  • specific academic aptitude or talent in one area such as mathematics or language arts;
  • creative and productive thinking, the ability to produce new ideas;
  • leadership ability, the ability to direct individuals or groups to a common decision or action;
  • visual and performing arts, special talents in visual art, music, dance, drama, or other related studies;

Silver Trail Middle is a public school that should be the model for all others. The principal is excellent, the teachers really care,and parents are always welcome to participate. This school does an excellent job with transitioning young children from elementary school by providing them with very safe environment and a zero tolerance policy.  There are programs for every interest and level of learning. All students can excel in this school since the schools philosophy is helping them become independent and responsible young adults.

West Broward High School serves students in grades 9 through 12. The school was scheduled to open for its first day of classes on August 18, 2008, but was delayed until August 20, 2008 due to the first two days of school being closed because of Tropical Storm Fay.

The school's mascot are the Bobcats and is notable for its first ever Veterinary Medicine career program and daycare program for teachers assistants.  West Broward High feeds 100% from Silver Trail Middle, portions of Glades Middle, and portions of Falcon Cove Middle.
